This is a listing of Shurrock families (and closely related names) in the counties of Buckinghamshire & Oxfordshire, many of the oldest records have the spelling Sherrug which may have originally been a phonetic spelling of Sharrock.

'Index, p. 277' Shurrock, G. letter of, 93.
Page 93 within the same volume describes the following manuscript letter:

"G. SHURROCK to SIR THOMAS TRESAME at Rushton. 1598, March 28th. Creeke. -- Sending the rent for a close in Syllesworth, and stating that he is willing to buy the same, although, the badness of the ground considered, he should prefer some land in the high field. 1/2 p."
