Land & Town
I am drawn to landscapes that exhibit evidence of human habitation, such as buildings, walls, and roads. Consequently, many of my drawings that have influenced or subsequently become linocuts share this characteristic. These linocuts depict a range of settings, from towns to hills to buildings.

Seascape
Over the years I have visited, not only many lovely parts of the UK, but also lots of Europe as well. While there I draw and paint, quite a lot. This has developed into many linocuts that about the coast. While many of these works are characterised by their abstract nature, emphasising colour and form, others strive for a more realistic portrayal.

Myths
Although I like abstract art and art that is simply a landscape, still-life etc I do find art that has a story more appealing. Over the last few years I have been making work that allows me to "bolt on" a story, a narrative. I've found the Greek, Roman and Norse myths to be very good anchors for my work.

Canals
Over the years, I have travelled extensively across the country, capturing the canal network through my drawing and painting. A significant portion of these creations have been transformed into linocuts, some show a level of realism while others may present a more abstract interpretation. Many linocuts can be highly colourful, while others are more monochromatic and the styles and techniques vary widely.

Small Canals
All 45 small linocuts that appear in my little book
"Canal Linocuts" are available to view.

Along with the linocuts there are interesting historical facts and text about each, kindly written by my friend Paul Higson. You can buy the book direct from me, see the tab below.
Concept
I have made many linocuts over the years that simply don't fit into the other "standard" groups. These are my geneaology pieces, figure work, abstract ideas, still-lifes etc.
